In this 2.5 hours session we will be reviewing Postpartum Care such as Newborn Exam, assessment of the mother and newborn days/weeks following the birth, differential diagnosis and postpartum mood disorders.

V.S. Assesses Gestational age of baby
V.T. Administer eye ointment
V.U. Administer Vitamin K
V. Review GBS status and s/s
VI. Postpartum
A. Assesses and evaluates physical and emotional changes
C. Assesses and provides counseling and education for: 1-9
D. Knows sign/symptoms, differential diagnosis: 1-8
E. Evaluates and counsels for newborn jaundice: 1-6
F. Provides direction for care of circumcised penis
G. Provides direction for care of intact (uncircumcised) penis
VII. Well-Baby Care
B. Principles of newborn adaptation to extra uterine life
C. Assess the current health and appearance of baby: 1-14
E. Advises mother in care of 1-5
F. Recognizes s/s and differential diagnosis of 1-9
G. Evaluates, counsels and monitors for physiological jaundice: 1-4
